Technical Metal, often abbreviated to ‘Tech Death’ is characterised by fast, technically complex guitar and drum work, often including ‘sweeping’ guitar solos. Vocals often adopt the guttural sound of Death Metal. Some of the first Tech Death bands include Cynic, Cephalic Carnage, Nile and Necrophagist. The music is often dark in nature, although many bands have claim to classical influence.
